A longtime friend of Esten, the two first met at folk high school, where they played together in the band Mylder. Since then, Herman has gone solo – not only as a singer-songwriter, but also as a producer, and as a member of Thomas Dybdahl’s band. Esten still remembers Herman saying back in school: “Imagine playing in Thomas Dybdahl’s band one day.” And now he actually does – as seen on Hver gang vi møtes on TV2.
But it’s not Thomas Dybdahl who’s coming to Trollkaukfestivalen. It’s someone Esten loves just as much, and is incredibly proud to share with you!
The music of Herman Wildhagen is the sound of peaceful stillness meeting the pulse of a bleeding heart. In the space between the intimate and the dramatic, Wildhagen creates a sonic world where beauty and pain coexist. The result is stories that feel both timeless and immediate, fragile and strong.
His debut album Rise Up, Keep It Down was released in February on Braveheart Records (home to Jonas Alaska, Mikhael Paskalev and Billie Van) and received glowing reviews from Aftenposten, Dagsavisen, DN and Gaffa.
This daytime concert will be something truly special – heartfelt, magical and beautifully moving.
