The key details, made simple.
Risen is the name of the farm — a real, living place with real people, real lives, and real boundaries. While Trollkauk blooms around it, the Risen House and its surrounding area are private and not part of the festival grounds.
The land where the festival takes place is owned by the legendary farmer Jørgen Sogge — an incredibly kind soul who lets us borrow his fields to make Trollkauk possible. His generosity is powered by trust, a bit of help chasing sheep, a couple of bottles of cognac (purely for morale, of course), and some good old-fashioned dugnad along the way.
This isn’t just a policy — it’s about respect.
The house is home to the equally legendary Risen Bandidos, who generously open parts of their land to us. That generosity comes with trust, and we expect everyone to honor that.
So please:
🚫 Do not enter the house or the garden around it.
🚫 Do not use the space as a shortcut, chill zone, selfie spot or secret rave.
🚫 No peeking in windows, no wandering through the yard, no exceptions.
If you’re unsure whether a space is public or private – assume it’s private and ask one of us. Respect the invisible fence, and we all get to keep the magic alive.
Practical information
Travel and transport
The best way to get to Trollkauk is undoubtedly the beautiful train ride with the Raumabanen.
It’s said to be one of Norway’s most scenic train routes! If not, carpooling or taking the bus works fine too. Get off at Myrabø!
The festival area is about a 15-minute drive from the center of Åndalsnes.
Accommodation and camping
We recommend camping in a tent, but we also have a limited number of spots for motorhomes and caravans.
Hammocks are also welcome, but it’s a good idea to bring a tarp in case of rain. If you plan to stay in a car/bus/caravan, it’s wise to arrive early to get the perfect spot!
Note! There is no electricity available for motorhomes.
Food and drinks
Every morning during the festival days, a delicious homemade breakfast will be served – a perfect start to a day at Trollkauk. Make sure to bring your own water bottle and cup/mug – we’re aiming to keep waste low and vibes high.
On-site, you’ll find food trucks offering a variety of tasty options. We’ll have a kitchen station and a charcoal grill available for anyone who wants to prepare their own meals – just bring your own gear and supplies. And please clean after yourself.
You can also buy everyday snacks or alcoholic beverages at Trollbar. If you need anything else, the town of Åndalsnes is just a 15-minute drive away.
Total ban on open fires – For nature, safety, and comfort, open fires and disposable grills are prohibited at the camp and festival area, as well as parking.
Showers and toilets
There will be toilets available at the camp and festival area. If you need a proper wash, you can head to Åndalsnes and take a shower at CirkleK. Good prices and about a 15-minute drive from the festival area!
There are also many campsites around where you can use their facilities. Prices may vary. But just a stone’s throw from the festival area, you can jump into the river for a refreshing dip – don’t forget shampoo and conditioner!
Drinking water
There will be drinking water available at the festival area, so bring your own water bottle. If you follow the Troll Trail and the Old King’s Road leading to Olaskarsgrova, you’ll find fresh drinking water from the stream.
If you walk further to Jonsoksteinen, you’ll experience stunning views of the valley, Trollveggen, and the festival area. You’ll also find a waterfall where you can take a refreshing shower!
Environmental stations
Trollkauk is committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible, so we encourage everyone to clean up, sort, and dispose of their trash correctly.
Environmental stations will be set up around both the camp and festival areas, where we will sort cardboard, cans, and waste. A larger container will also be available for larger items if necessary.
The most important thing is that the area is as beautiful after the festival as it was before. So rinse, fold, and stuff. Or take it home with you <3
Ticks
Unfortunately, there are quite a few ticks in the area, so be sure to check yourself and your companions regularly for these little bloodsuckers.
It’s a bit of a hassle, but think of it as a form of voluntary work <3
Some things to keep in mind
We’ve got a liquor license, which means rules apply. You’ll get the full lowdown on site – just follow them so we can keep the vibes high and the trouble low.
There’s a fast road nearby – don’t walk along it. Use the Troll Trail instead, it’s safer (and way more beautiful).
And hey – if someone asks you for a hand, lend it. We’re all in this together.
Trollkauk is built on trust, kindness and shared effort. Take care of each other – check in on your neighbors, include those you don’t know, and leave no one behind.
